SXSW 2011: Day Four
Following the only complete meal of the day, breakfast, we head to the Convention Centre where there is a presentation by Ozomatli, a USC Professor and a government member responsibly for overseas cultural development. And its only ten in the morning.
Basically the professor spoke over gentle background music from the band who wold then burst into life to play a song which the professor had set up. The theme was their life story and their involvement in the overseas reach out programme by the USA cultural department

Afterwards the band took questions ......we drilled them......
Then on with the day parties - to Barbarella's to see one of Al's finds, Agesandages.
Then, two worlds collide once more . all the way from Orkney Isles , I bring you Erland and the Carnival...
Back to the Convention Centre to see one of the world's greatest current acts - The Felice Brothers , just great punky country rock.

Afternoon parties are in full swing - here are Oberhofer
Over to The Dirty Dog to se Gypsyblood, another of my Must Sees - now up to 26 of my must see selections....
Crowds building - this was a sit down set by The Dodos. They are in the slight red light and this was the worst view of the week...
Then the super Antlers.
Great renovated venue, The Stage , obviously a C&W haven...
On to to see some southern rawk, from Canada???, The Sheepdogs.
Then I set off on out of the way venues to get as wild a mixture as possible of venues and music over next six hours. First to Momos to see cabaret virtuoso pianist MarcoBienvento.
Then to cool night club Malverde to see firstly Millionyoung fromLondon, a gentle electronic act. He played on the outdoor balcony , across the way is the Moody Theatre a grand venue which I would visit later.

Same Plave to see Daytrotter's top reco, Caveman.
Change of pace, over the road to Moody Theatre to see some Country legends. First, old school, Robert Earl Keen.
then newer old school, Lucinda Williams

Back to the throng - Bombay Bicycle Club @ Latitude Thirty
Finally, the most popular band in New Zealand, The Naked and The Famous, the whole world will buy their hit single Young Blood, trust me.
And then it was only one day left......
